Many times we don't know what to do when there is an accident or unexpected situation. Who to tell, where to call - the head does not work! In such situations it is advisable to deal with the situation with patience. And now almost everyone has a mobile phone. So some numbers can be called to get quick help. They are always ready to help.
National Emergency Service (999)
999 is now the most urgent number in any situation. This is the national emergency service number of the country. Anyone can call this number from anywhere in the country to get emergency services in case of any accident. This call center is being run under police. Police, Fire Service and Ambulance services or related information can be obtained by calling this number. The call center is open 24 hours a day. 999 can be called for free from any phone.
Give specific information by calling. In case of any accident, mention the place name, road number, house number. If you see the offender, describe his appearance as best you can remember. Control irrelevant talk-emotions. Calling this number unnecessarily may block your number.
Health Care (16263)
Anyone can get sick at any time. You may not be able to call a doctor you know at this time; Some may not even have a known doctor. In such a situation, you can safely call the health care helpline number 16263. It is a helpline run by the Ministry of Health. By calling this number you can get advice directly from a doctor on any health related matter. This number is open 24 hours a day. Apart from this, information and phone numbers of government hospitals, doctors or any other information related to health care can be obtained from health care. Any complaints or suggestions regarding government, private healthcare or hospitals can also be reported on this number. The complainant will also be informed about the action taken regarding the complaint.
According to the website of the Health Service, a charge of Tk 2.37 per minute (including VAT) is applicable for calling this number. Anyone can get health care online by filling the required information in the prescribed form through this website. But the advice is, if possible, it is better to call with pen and paper. The name of the medicine that the doctor tells you, will know its spelling and write it down immediately. If you immediately write down the dosage, i.e. how many times a day, you will not have any problems later. But yes, for serious illness the patient should be rushed to the nearest hospital.
Women and Child Abuse Prevention Cell (109 or 10921)
Violence against women and children is happening regularly in our country. To prevent this torture, a 'Women and Child Torture Prevention Cell' has been launched with the number 10921. If a woman is a victim of abuse, is attacked by miscreants or is afraid of being humiliated, she can immediately call this number and seek help. This program is being conducted under the multisectoral program to prevent violence against women under the Ministry of Women and Child Affairs. There is no charge to call this number. This number is open 24 hours seven days a week.
Child Helpline (1098)
Child Helpline 1098 started in 2011 to provide 24-hour emergency support services to underprivileged abused and endangered children. This helpline is managed by a non-governmental organization called Aparajeya Bangladesh under the supervision of the Department of Social Services. Calling this number will not incur any charges.
Government Legal Services (16430)
Many times distressed and poor people do not get legal advice or help due to lack of money. As a result some are deprived of justice. Thinking about them, 16430 number was launched to provide free legal advice and legal assistance. The National Legal Aid Agency under the Department of Law and Justice has been providing this service since 2016. This number can be called free of cost from any mobile operator and T&T number.
National Identity Card (105)
Now national identity card is very important. Many times this identity card is lost, destroyed. Again it can be seen that after reaching adulthood, the national identity card has to be renewed. In that case, if there is a mistake, it has to be corrected. Sometimes updates are required. To know about these issues or for any information about National Identity Card, you can call 105. The Election Commission launched this helpdesk in 2015. Anyone from any part of the country can call 105 to get the necessary information related to National Identity Card.
BTRC (100)
Can't go without phone now. Several companies are providing phone services in the country. These organizations have customer care to provide customer service. Concerned customers can give information and complaints about the service by calling customer care. However, Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) launched call center (100) to strengthen customer complaint handling process. Anyone can report complaints by calling this number free of charge.
Bangladesh Bank (16236)
If you are harassed to get banking services or if you have any complaints, you can report it directly to Bangladesh Bank at 16263. This is the helpline of Bangladesh Bank. If a customer goes to a bank and is harassed or if a bank official does not provide proper service to the customer, he can file a complaint on this number. This number can be called from any mobile operator. Normal call rates will apply for this.

ACC (106)
Corruption and irregularities are happening in front of your eyes - but you can't do anything. Or you yourself are a victim of that irregularity. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) launched hotline 106 to report such corruption and irregularities. This number can be called from telephone or any mobile phone. Anyone can call this number for free. In this case, the name and identity of the complainant is kept confidential. If the complainant wants his statement can be recorded. This number can be called during office hours, i.e. from nine in the morning to five in the afternoon.
Union Parishad Helpline (16256)
Union Parishad Helpline 16256 started its journey in 2012 to provide information and advice services related to any allowance or grant at the Union Parishad level. Anyone can avail this service by calling from anywhere in the country. This number can be called from any mobile operator. Normal call rates will apply for this.
Apart from this there are some other numbers from which various assistance is available. Eg: Krishi Call Center (16123), BTCL (16402), Disaster Advance Message (10941), Prabas Bandhu Call Center (09654333333), Dhaka Wasa (16162).
